About IUA:

A historical overview of the International University of Africa:

The Islamic African Institute was established in 1968 by a number of scholars and supported by the public. The institute started by admitting students from Africa in the Intermediate and secondary levels.

The government of Sudan decided to establish the centre on a wider level under the name of the African Islamic Centre with a multi-national Council of Trustees. After making necessary contacts, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Qatar, the Emirates and Morocco responded and appointed their representatives in the Centre’s Council of Trustees.

According to the increasing demand for higher education and because of the limited opportunities available for students from Africa, the government of Sudan decreed in 1411 the following :-

  1. Developing of the Islamic Centre to become the International University of Africa.
  2. Opening the door for participation in the Council of Trustees for interested countries and for competent welfare organizations in addition to the countries which had established the Islamic African Centre.
  3. Granting the University all the privileges stated in the Residence Agreement between Sudan and the Islamic African Centre.
